A silicon-carbon alloy is an alloy consisting of silicon and carbon, usually containing approximately 70-90% silicon and 10-30% carbon. Silicon carbon alloy is an important iron alloy, widely used in iron and steel metallurgy, casting and chemical industry.
The main role of silicon carbon alloy is used as deoxidizer and alloying element additive. In steel smelting, silicon carbon alloy can be used for deoxidation and alloying to improve the properties of steel. In the casting industry, silicon carbon alloy can be used to adjust the composition of casting alloys and improve their mechanical properties. In addition, silicon-carbon alloys can also be used as reducing agents in the chemical industry and as raw materials for the synthesis of organic compounds.
