Calcined petroleum coke (CPC) is a high purity carbon material produced by heating green petroleum coke to drive off moisture, volatile matter, and impurities and to increase its electrical conductivity. The resulting calcined petroleum coke is primarily used in the production of aluminum, steel, titanium dioxide, and electrodes.
Characteristics:
- High purity: The calcination process removes impurities such as sulfur and moisture, resulting in a high-purity product.
- High carbon content: The carbon content of CPC is typically between 95% and 99%.
- High density: The density of CPC is typically around 2.05 g/cm³.
- Low ash content: The ash content of CPC is typically less than 0.5%.
