DESCRIPTION

High Purity Graphitized Petroleum Coke (GPC) is an important material used in the production of semiconductors. Semiconductors are critical components in electronic devices and are used in everything from computers and mobile phones to medical equipment and automotive systems.

The use of high purity GPC in the production of semiconductors offers several advantages. First, it provides a source of carbon for the production of silicon carbide (SiC), a key material used in the production of high-performance semiconductors. Second, the graphitization process increases the carbon content and improves the purity of the coke, which results in better performance in the semiconductor manufacturing process. Finally, high purity GPC has a low sulfur and ash content, which reduces the potential for impurities in the final product.

The production of high purity GPC involves the calcination of petroleum coke in a high-temperature furnace. During this process, the volatile components are removed, and the carbon content is increased through graphitization. The resulting product is then crushed and screened to the desired size.

High purity GPC typically has a fixed carbon content of 99% or higher and a low sulfur and ash content. It is used in the production of SiC through a process known as chemical vapor deposition (CVD). In this process, a substrate material is exposed to a gas containing silicon and carbon, and the SiC is deposited on the substrate.
