DESCRIPTION

Graphitized Petroleum Coke (GPC) is an important material used in the production of Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) electrodes. EDM is a non-traditional machining process that uses electrical sparks to erode the workpiece material. EDM electrodes are used to produce these electrical sparks, and high-quality electrodes are critical for achieving precise and accurate machining.

The use of graphitized petroleum coke in the production of EDM electrodes offers several advantages. First, the high carbon content of GPC provides excellent electrical conductivity, which is essential for efficient and consistent EDM operations. Second, the graphitization process improves the purity of the coke, which results in better performance and longer electrode life. Finally, GPC has a low sulfur and ash content, which reduces the potential for impurities and contamination in the electrode material.

The production of GPC for EDM electrodes involves the calcination of petroleum coke in a high-temperature furnace. During this process, the volatile components are removed, and the carbon content is increased through graphitization. The resulting product is then crushed and screened to the desired size.

GPC for EDM electrodes typically has a fixed carbon content of 99% or higher and a low sulfur and ash content. It is available in various sizes and shapes, including cylindrical, rectangular, and custom shapes to meet the specific requirements of different EDM applications.
