DESCRIPTION
Graphite petroleum coke (GPC) is a byproduct of the oil refining process. It is a black solid that contains carbon, with a high carbon content of 98% or more. GPC is commonly used as a carbon additive in steel casting, and it helps to increase the carbon content of steel.
The addition of GPC to steel casting also enhances the mechanical properties of the final product, making it stronger and more durable. It also reduces the amount of shrinkage that occurs during the solidification process and increases the fluidity of molten steel, which makes it easier to cast complex shapes.
In addition to its application in steel casting, GPC is also used as a fuel and as a raw material in the production of carbon electrodes, which are used in the manufacturing of aluminum and other industrial processes.
