DESCRIPTION
In industry, metallic silicon is usually made from carbon silicon dioxide in an electric furnace. Chemical equation: Silicon from SIO2 + 2C → SI + 2CO is 97-98% pure silicon, called metallic silicon. After melting and recrystallization, 99.7 ~ 99.8% silicon metal was obtained by removing impurities with acid.
