Silicon metal is also called industrial silicon or crystalline silicon. It is a silver-gray with metallic luster. The main component of silicon is about 98%. The remaining impurities are iron, Aluminum, calcium, etc.
Silicon Metal is commonly used in Aluminium industry as an alloying agent to make it strong and harden. As one of the results, it replaced Cast Iron components in automotive industry as it is strong but lighter, which giving credit to fuel efficiency. It’s play an important role in electronics, semiconductors and solar cells industries.
