DESCRIPTION
Silicon metal is produced by the carbothermic reduction-smelting process, in which silica is reduced by carbon in a submerged arc furnace at temperatures between 1300 and 2000°C under atmospheric pressure. Silicon metal is a key raw material of silicone, semiconductor silicon, synthetic quartz and aluminium alloys. We supply some of the world’s highest purity silicon metal.
