DESCRIPTION
Metallic silicon, also known as crystalline silicon or industrial silicon, is mainly used as an additive in non-ferrous alloys. It is gray, metallic, hard and brittle.Metallic silicon is a product smelted by quartz and coke in an electric heating furnace. The content of main component silicon is about 98% (in recent years, 99.99% containing Si is also included in metallic silicon), and the rest impurities are iron, aluminum, calcium, etc.Uses of metallic silicon: Metallic silicon (Si) is the simple silicon which is purified by industry. It is mainly used for producing organic silicon, making semiconductor materials with high purity and preparing alloys with special purposes.
