In this reaction, Ferrovanadium pentoxide (V2O5) is combined with iron (Fe) to produce vanadium (V) metal and iron(II) oxide (FeO).

The produced vanadium metal is then typically combined with additional iron and other elements to form ferrovanadium alloy.
