DESCRIPTION
The addition of Oxidation Resistance Enhancer ferro vanadium to alloys forms a protective oxide layer on their surface, which acts as a barrier against oxidation. Vanadium, with its high melting point and strong affinity for oxygen, reacts with oxygen in the environment to form stable vanadium oxide layers. These oxide layers prevent further oxidation of the underlying material, protecting it from degradation and maintaining its structural integrity.
Furthermore, vanadium in Oxidation Resistance Enhancer ferrovanadium can also act as a solid solution strengthener, improving the high-temperature mechanical properties of the alloy. This enables the material to withstand the harsh conditions encountered in elevated-temperature applications while retaining its oxidation resistance.
