DESCRIPTION
Ferrosilicon is an essential element in the steel production process. Widely used as oxygen absorber and alloying element. This alloy is made by reducing silica with coke in the presence of iron. Ferrosilicon, which has a higher silicon content, is produced in sinking furnaces. Typical ferrosilicon formulations contain 70 – 75% silicon of different grain sizes.
Ferro silicon 75 (FeSi75) is a type of ferroalloy composed of iron (Fe) and silicon (Si) with a silicon content of around 75%. It is commonly used in the steel industry as an alloying agent to improve the mechanical and physical properties of steel.
FeSi75 is produced by smelting a mixture of iron ore, coke, and silica in an electric furnace.
