DESCRIPTION

Ferrosilicon alloy can be used as deoxidizer and alloying agent in the field of iron and steel smelting. In the final stage of iron and steel smelting, the affinity between oxygen atoms and silicon atoms can be effectively improved through deoxidation treatment, thus obtaining high quality iron and steel. In this stage, ferrosilicon alloy can be used for diffusion deoxidation and precipitation. Adding a certain amount of ferrosilicon to steel can also significantly improve the elasticity, hardness and strength of steel. Therefore, in the smelting of structural steel with silicon content of 0.40%~1.75%, tool steel with 0.30%~1.8% and spring steel with 0.40%~2.8%, Ferrosilicon alloy can also be used as alloying agent. In addition, due to the high temperature conditions of ferrosilicon alloy after combustion can release a lot of heat energy, using this characteristic, in iron and steel smelting, ferrosilicon alloy can also be used as ingot cap heating agent, to improve the recovery rate of ingot, improve the overall quality of the ingot.

Ferrosilicon Application

1. Ferrosilicon is often used as deoxidizer in steel- making.

2. Ferrosilicon also can be used as alloy elements join agent, which is widely used in low alloy steel, non-
ferrous metal, bearing steel, heat-resistant steels and electrician silicon-steel.

3. It can be used as a reductant in ferroalloy production and chemical industry.

4. In iron industry it can be used as inoculant and nodulizer.
