DESCRIPTION
Ferro silicon is an alloy made up of iron and silicon. It is used in the production of steel and other iron alloys as a deoxidizer and an alloying agent to improve the mechanical and physical properties of the final product. Ferro silicon is also used in the production of aluminum, copper, and other non-ferrous alloys as a reducing agent. It has a high melting point and is highly resistant to corrosion, making it an ideal material for use in various industrial applications.Ferrosilicon is an essential element in the steel production process. Widely used as oxygen absorber and alloying element. This alloy is made by reducing silica with coke in the presence of iron. Ferrosilicon, which has a higher silicon content, is produced in sinking furnaces. Typical ferrosilicon formulations contain 70 – 75% silicon of different grain sizes.
