DESCRIPTION
Ferro silicon is from quartz, coke as raw materials by electric furnace. Si and oxygen is easily to be compound into SiO2, and Fe can be used directly into liquid steel, Ferrosilicon is used as a source of silicon to reduce metals from their oxides and to deoxidize steel and other ferro alloys. Ferro silicon is an important inoculant and nodulizer in ductile iron production. Because adding a certain amount of silicon in casting iron, can prevent steel form carbide and promote precipitation and nodulizing of graphite.
