Ferrosilicon 72 is an alloy made of iron and silicon, with a silicon content of approximately 72%. It is commonly used in the steelmaking industry as a deoxidizer and an alloying agent to improve the strength and quality of steel.
Ferrosilicon 72 is typically sold in the form of lumps, which are irregularly shaped pieces ranging in size from small granules to larger pieces up to several centimeters in diameter. The surface of the lumps is generally dark grey or black, and the interior is a metallic silver color.
The lumps may have a slightly rough texture due to the irregular surface of the individual pieces. They are packaged in large bags or drums for transportation and storage.
