Ferro Silicon is an alloy of iron and silicon with an average silicon content between 15 and 90 weight percent. It contains a high proportion of iron silicides.Because of the great affinity of oxygen for Silicon FeSi75 is the most popular deoxidizer in steelmaking.It is also used as an alloying element in the manufacture of special Silicon steels for electrical uses and is used to increase overall impact resistance steel.
