Chromite is a chromium-bearing mineral and is one of the important minerals of chromium. It is usually black in color and has a metallic luster and a high density. Chromite usually contains between 30% and 50% chromium, and it is one of the main raw materials used in the production of important materials such as high chromium alloys and stainless steel. The main sources of chromite include countries such as South Africa, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Brazil.
